WGTP – Footscray Road Outbound Service Lane Reopening

The West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP) has advised that the westbound (outbound) Service Lane on Footscray Road, between Appleton Dock Road and Dock Link Road, will reopen on 13 November 2025.

Once opened, the centre lanes on Footscray Road will become through lanes only.

Importantly for heavy vehicles, the lefthand turn into Dock Link Road for vehicles heading west will be reinstated,  This will be welcome news for trucks wanting to access DP World West Swanson Terminals and DPW Melbourne Logistics Park (MLP) from an easterly direction.

Also, the Sims Street Loop will be accessible from the Service Lane.
