
There will be two weekends of outbound lane and ramp closures between Williamstown Road and Millers Road, on the West Gate Freeway (M1) as the West Gate Tunnel Project crews remove a 450 tonne tower crane from the middle of the freeway which has played a key role in the construction of the outbound tunnel exit.
Warnings have been issued to avoid the West Gate Bridge and to expect significant delays of up to an hour from Friday, 11 April at 11:59 pm to Monday, 14 April at 5:00 am, with the West Gate Freeway being reduced to two lanes outbound this weekend.
All lanes of the West Gate Freeway will also be closed overnight outbound between Williamstown Road and Millers RoadΒ on Friday and Sunday nightsΒ for the setup and dismantling of the 450-tonne crane.
The Williamstown Road outbound entry ramp will beΒ closed 24/7 over the 2 weekends in AprilΒ as well.
