Heavy Vehicle Driver Competency Framework – VIC Regulatory Initiatives

The Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has released a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) to update the Victorian heavy vehicle driver licensing system.

The proposed Victorian regulatory update aligns with the changes proposed in the National Heavy Vehicle Driver Competency Framework agreed in-principle at a national level. The reforms aim to strengthen the competency, safety, and consistency of heavy vehicle driver licensing in Victoria.

CTAA strongly supports the National Heavy Vehicle Competency Framework.  Industry requires a consistent regulatory approach across all the State/Territory licensing jurisdictions, including Victoria.
